What is Dr. Matt? Dr. Matt is a fictional character with all of Dr. Phil’s dickishness, but hopefully some far better ideas. Yes, many of them are my ideas, but in the end, he speaks for himself.
Why is Dr. Matt kind of a jerk? Because it’s amusing to have a character who is insightful into other people’s lives and insists on raising their awareness, but seems disinterested in his own self-awareness. It’s common to have Dr. Matt introducing and discussing a topic which he doesn’t realize applies to himself. It’s especially funny to me because I think these people actually exist.
